How the vending machine calculator works

The calculator deducts all entered variable and fixed operating costs from net revenue. Your own working time is not included.

  • Net sales = customers per day × products per customer × sales days × net sales price per product
  • Current costs = goods input + spoilage + location + card fees + all fixed costs
  • Operating profit = net turnover – current costs
  • Payback period = total investment ÷ operating profit

What determines profitability

Location has the greatest impact. Footfall, time spent on site and returning users, for example in an office, gym or workshop, have the strongest influence on daily customer numbers. Average basket size, product range and purchase prices come next.

The calculator supports your planning. Location, product range, restocking frequency and the work involved in operating the machine determine the actual result.

How much does a snack vending machine cost?

These net prices match the configurations that can actually be selected on each product page. A net freight charge of EUR 375 per machine is added:

What running costs are involved

The fields above cover these items. As orientation:

  • Cost of goods: for mixed assortment, about 55 % of net sales
  • Electricity and cooling: Energy label 2,340 kWh/year, i.e. about 45–EUR 60 per month, depending on the tariff
  • Card fee: about 2.5 % of card turnover
  • Terminal, SIM and telemetry: depending on the terminal, about 14 to EUR 19 per month and device
  • Travels, spoilage, location, spare parts reserve and insurance: depending on location and frequency
  • Deposit: for disposable beverages EUR 0,25 per package, passing through
